How long have you been in business?
We have been serving Central and South Texas homeowners and builders since 1981.

How are your prices? Are you competitive with Home Depot?
Almost everyday somebody tells us that they were very surprised that our prices are at or below Home Depot’s. Home Depot is difficult to compete with on items that they can buy an entire ship-load of and put on the store shelves; however, custom blinds can only be bought one at a time. We are Hunter Douglas’ largest distributor in the state of Texas. In addition, we are one of the largest factory direct retailers of plantation shutters in the country.

Our volume and in-house manufacturing enable us to offer the best prices available. Also, as a window covering specialty company we have a highly trained staff that enables us to provide a high level of professional service both in our store and in your home.
Window Coverings is all we do! We do it extremely well! We do it at a very competitive price!

What do you recommend as the best process to following when shopping for window coverings?
Most consumers only make a window covering purchase on average every seven years. During that time a world of fantastic new products, beneficial features and options have been made available to consumers. If we only sold one or two things it may be possible to effectively present consumers with their alternatives by simply visiting their home. However, with the tremendous selection available today, visiting a store with comprehensive window covering displays, and a well-trained staff is the only real way to start the process and make good decisions. Our showrooms provide you with the ability to see and operate all of today’s most popular products. Also, within most product categories there are many beneficial, optional features that can be seen and operated as well.

In addition to previewing products, visiting a potential supplier permits you to get a good feel for the type of operation you are dealing with and the quality of their staff. It is difficult to know much about a business when all you see is someone in a car with a business card. Most people visit our showroom with a pre-conceived notion about what they want to do in their home. Most consumers leave our store with a happily changed notion regarding their selections, and a great deal of confidence in us as a supplier. Our sales people work with consumers both in our store and in the home. Once you have been in our showroom and narrowed down your selections a member of our staff will come to your home to assist you with specific selections and to professionally measure your windows. Most of our orders are also professional installed by a member of our staff.

What is your warranty?
All of our products are covered by a limited lifetime warranty. Many window covering business say this as a part of their advertising and/or sales pitch; however, very few actually put the warranty in writing. Please see details of Hunter Douglas and O'Hair Shutters warranties.

Do you offer installation? If so, who do you have doing the work?
Most of our orders are professionally installed by a member of our staff. We have a highly trained staff of technicians who drive company owned vehicles, and who are fully insured, protecting you while they are in your home.

I am considering using a combination of shutters and blinds. Do you offer both?
Most window covering companies will answer this questions yes; however, very few effectively and competitively offer both products. Most blind companies do offer shutters; however, it is almost impossible to buy and resell shutters and remain competitive with those that manufacture and sell direct. Secondly, most shutter specialty companies can competitively provide shutters; however, most of the blind work they do is done as an accommodation, not as a core part of their business. We are unique in the window covering industry in that we effectively and competitively offer both product categories, and as a result have become the dominant window covering supplier in Central and South Texas.

What are your payment options?
We accept cash and checks, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. A 50% deposit is required to begin each order. We also offer 6 month no interest, no payment financing to qualified buyers. We do offer a reduced deposit on financed orders.

How long do blinds take to get?
We receive most blind and shade orders from Hunter Douglas in four to seven working days. Some of their more unique, specialized products do take from two to three weeks to deliver. Once we receive your order at our showroom a member of our administrative staff will contact you to arrange installation. We are usually able to arrange installation within three to five working days depending on your schedule.

How long do shutters take to get?
To this day most shutter orders in the country are typically delivered in 10 to 12 weeks. Why should anything take 10 to 12 week to get? This is the exact question that lead us into manufacturing shutters. The answer to the question is that shutters absolutely shouldn’t take 10 to 12 weeks. Almost every shutter order we take is installed within four weeks of the receipt of the order. Ten to twelve week delivery is not about production backlog it is about poorly managed businesses living off your deposit!
