We’re excited to give you a sneak peak into the new home of Lifestyle Blogger, Thea Nolan & her husband, Jeremiah. Newly married, this couple recently purchased a home in the North Central Austin area. After burning sage and starting to unpack, they realized privacy and light control were priorities they couldn’t live without. Let’s take a look at what they chose for window coverings…
Getting Started
Whether you’re familiar with Thea Nolan, or you’ve just been introduced, you’ll find that she does her homework on every aspect she presents in her work as an Austin area lifestyle blogger. That’s why we were so honored that she chose to work with our team at Austin Window Fashions. The couple worked closely with window covering designer Lori McCleary, to identify the style that matched their home, along with the functional benefits they needed to create the right atmosphere in each room.
The Selections
They sat down together, for a one-on-one consultation, selecting the Designer Roller Shades collection. They really liked the clean, modern profile of the shades, along with the choice of light filtering or room darkening fabrics–depending on the function of the room.
The couple was drawn to the simplicity of the cordless operation of LiteRise, which allows you to push or pull gently with your hand to adjust the window shades.
For windows where a cord was necessary, they chose the custom clutch chain on one side. Fastened in place, there are no dangling cords, but adjustments are possible as the chain rotates easily with manual control.
The Fabrics
As a Lifestyle Blogger, you know that fashion and style are important parts of Thea’s life. The fabrics chosen for their window shades were meant to blend with the soft color scheme of their home.
Neutral colors offer subtle style, but up close, you can see the textures of the fabric, and it’s a beautiful look. Thea chose The common areas of the home–the kitchen, living room & dining room–were outfitted with light filtering fabric. These windows feature the Newby fabric collection in White Water. Light filtering fabrics allow levels of privacy and glare reduction.
The bedrooms & home office were outfitted with room darkening shades. These Roller Shades were designed with the Sewickley fabric collection in Blizzard.
All of the roller shades feature a fabric-wrapped cassette and a fabric-wrapped bottom bar to complete the modern aesthetic.
Our team couldn’t be happier with how this project turned out! Beautiful shades for a beautiful home. Buying your first home is such an exciting time, and designing the comfort and atmosphere of each room is simple with the right window shades. Thanks to Thea & Jeremiah for trusting us with your home!
